Abstract:
The main purpose of this paper is to show that the meta-analysis of the Romanian reflection in the field of translation studies is beginning to take shape. To this end, the article reviews and examines editions and translation studies works (the “Appendix” lists about 180 titles, including reprints) published between 2000 and 2015, which prove the researchers’ interest in various directions of descriptive and applied research. The way in which the field of current Romanian translation studies relates both to the European research and conceptualisation, and to well-established Romanian studies on translation prior to 2000, reveals the absence of self-centredness and the presence of several linguistic codes and ways to theorise translation.
Key words:
Romanian translation studies, meta-translation, the theory/practice/didactics of translation
