The Romanian version of Aeneid due to the late professor G. I. Tohaneanu represents a remarkable translation achievement. For the „archaic spirit” to reverberate, the translator has used the lexical elements and grammatical forms that are specific to early Romanian language as well as popular non-literary terms. The paper presents some of these lexemes grouped as „terrestrial” terms.
