Abstract:
Over time, numerous Romanian writers have resorted to self-translation either in order to “export” abroad works originally written in Romanian or to “import” into their country of origin works written and published in a foreign language. The theoretical interest in the topic, however, has not always matched these writers‟ endeavours in the practice of self-translation. Our paper examines the research on self-translation in Romania (beginnings and development), with a focus on the studies published in French and Romanian by Romanian scholars who belonged or still belong to the Romanian academic world.
Key words:
The practice/analysis of self-translation into and from Romanian, the study of self-translation, Romanian writers of French expression
