Rezumat: | [The Relation between Repeated Speech and Intertext in Postmodernist Literature] The present work discusses and analyses the ways in which repeated speech (a „coserian” concept) becomes an intertextual code in postmodernist literature. After a classification of the types of repeated speech, we noticed both common and different elements of the two phenomena, but also the that these elements interfere at the level of poetic and literary convention in the postmodernist type. The first distinction, between repeated speech and intertext, entailed that repeated speech (as Coseriu names it) is in fact a reality of spontaneous language, connected with a certain tradition of synchronic language which can appear in the literary text as well (although, as a phenomenon, it appeared and developed in speech firstly). First of all, we have used paremic expressions excerpted from literary texts. The intertext appeared especially in the written language, in literature, and it also extended in media: written and audiovisual press, cinema, etc.. Secondly, repeated speech is distinguished by the intertext through the fact that the former is a basic element, a code through which the intertext decrypts itself, a micro-language factor which appears as intertext at macro-level. The common element of repeated speech and intertext is that they define themselves as a ready made speech, presented in the reader or speaker’s consciousness. The same linguistic fact can be found at the changed intertextual level in different variants. The interference of these two phenomena in the postmodernist literature is justified through the conventions of this type of literature (orality reek), and this is done through a certain type of dialogue (intertextual) with the characters and with the reader. The poetics of the postmodernism, which promotes “the esthetic decanonization”, gathers all that is not aesthetic and suggests a new type of literalness through “recycling”. This way, by elimining textual coherence and narrative focus, it was possible for already-conventionalized facts of language (repeated speech, linguistic isolations) to become ways of expression of postmodernist literary conventions. |
