| Rezumat: | Referring to the world represents an intrinsic property of language, whose ways of functioning need to be shown. It is therefore about the fact that the signs signify, considering that they reflect something different from their own presence. Consequently, the issue looks at showing how the fact of pointing to the world (not the world itself) is internal to the propositions and how the reference manifests itself and what signs have as a task to show its presence. The meaning of the lexical word (= its denotation, the whole of its semantic characteristics) has to be related to the discourse reference (= the fact of reflecting an extra-linguistic item – or rather a thought item – by the utterance). |
