| Rezumat: | This paper aims to present the various uses that the adverb has both in English and in Romanian. The main function of an adverb is that of being a qualifier of the verb, but also of an adjective and of another adverb. The form of the adverb and its special uses generate different classifications. The various types of adverbs and their place in the sentence represent important grammatical problems. |
