Rezumat: | Starting from the polyphony principle elaborated by the Russian theoretician Mikhaïl Bakhtin (according to whom the polyphony represents the plurality of voices into the representation of the novel) and by Oswald Ducrot (according to whom every sentence may contain many overlapped discourses), we will demonstrate that the negative sentence produces not two speakers but two points of view. By analysing a simple negative sentence, in so far as this sentence implies a previous sentence, we can say that this sentence is dialogical. The operations of the negation are cognitive operations which join the discourse using specific linguistic markers. Taking into account the laws of the discourse, the theory of the argumentative degrees, the polyphony and the relevance theory, we will arrive at an interpretation of the pragmatic function of the negation. |
