| Rezumat: | [Names of local fairs and festivals in the province of Turin] This study explores the names of local fairs and festivals in the province of Turin, Italy. Firstly, after a brief historical overview, the paper provides an analysis of the language choices displayed by the names, which vacillate between Italian and the local dialect, noting the preponderance of the former, but with an increase in the use of the dialect, especially in the last years. Secondly, this research analyses the typological aspects that can be observed in the names of fairs and festivals, which may refer to the period of time when these events take place, toponymic indications, kinds of goods that can be found at fairs, or certain local celebrations. In some cases, however, the name may be an original construction. |
