| Rezumat: | [Cur Deus Homo: from the Fundamental Concepts (debita, satisfactio) to the Limits of the Treatis] Anselm of Canterbury (1033-1109 AC) is the first to have written a theology work, dedicated exclusively to salvation, thus creating a new theological field: soteriology. Such a theme inevitably raises issues concerning the rapport between Creator and creature, the will, justice and mercy of God, the – mortal/immortal – human condition in the context of the divine plan, etc. The answers to these issues lead to the idea of the necessity of incarnation, a necessity that should not be seen as a limitation of the divine power. Our analysis proposes a review of both virtues and limits of this treatise, as well as an analysis of the relation between two fundamental concepts of the Anselmian dialogue: debita (debts) and satisfactio (atonement). |
