The investigation of referential issues presented an increased interest to linguists, problems and the basic concepts being very relevant for both research of the meaning and reference in natural languages with linguistics implications and for its connection to logic and philosophy. There are three directions to approach linguistic meaning. They are representational theories in conformity with which semantic analysis is aimed at discovering the conceptual structures which are on the base of the language; referential or denotational theories, oriented towards the outer world and concerned about the meaning and informational significance of language, about the facts and situations described by it and social and pragmatic theories of meaning that emphasize communicative function of a language, understood as a social activity. Thus, the approach to meaning in natural languages is a very complex, important and interesting area through a multitude of phenomena and discussed issues.
