The present paper is the second one that regards Kazuo Ishiguro’s dialogues, after Ishiguro’s Dialogues (I) (If Only Words Could Speak…)2, as it intends to read between the lines of the novel ‘The Remains of the Day’ and thus, to analyse them from the point of view of their power to depict the British post-war society. Analysing the discourse of the dialogues, it tries to demonstrate how representative they can be for the author’s view of the world. Therefore, a fine touch of the discourse analysis approach would help us understand better the main character’s intensions, and implicitly, the author’s.
