| Rezumat: | In the modern literature of the Germans in Hungary, which exists since the 1970-ies, the motif of “Heimat” (in the meaning of country or/and region of origin) appears constantly. For “Heimat” stands Hungary as a whole and certain regions of the country in this time. After the political changes of 1989/90 Hungary as a whole as motif of “Heimat” disappears and from then on only regions, cities, villages and other local areas are described as “Heimat”, but the description changes from the former idealistic view to a more critical one. Interestingly Germany – which is the “old Heimat” of the Germans in Hungary – appears only marginally in this literature and never as an alternative home. |
