| Rezumat: | [Rhetoric and Imagology: Characteristics of some Romanian Presidential Discourses] The article proposes an analysis of some presidential discourses presented on different occasions: military parades and receptions for the National Day of Romania and TV Shows. The main focus is placed on the figure of Romanian president Traian Băsescu and on the characteristic elements of his speeches in terms of pragmatics, rhetoric and discourse analysis. By identifying and analysing the types of modalization, politieness, stylistics it is portrayed the image of a president that communicates very easily and relaxed, proving the charisma of a genuine actor. |
