| Rezumat: | The present study describes the structure and the rhetorical aspects of the Forewords written by the Moldavian Metropolitan Veniamin Costachi. The author of the forewords supports the need to render the translated texts accessible by means of a modern and clear translation, deprived of archaic words and regional phonetic variants and made open to the understanding of all the people living in the Romanian Principalities. By frequently using elements of orality, Veniamin Costachi writes according to the momentary disposition and the needs of his readers and he insistently cultivates the idea of patriotism. |
