As a remarkable reification, in the European Orient, of the Byzantine concept of polytheia (connected to the Renaissance Western construct), the “community profit” has simultaneously represented an ethical target and a “screening” of interpretation, an educational aim suggested to fellow beings and a criterion of evaluation. This “screening” has assisted the writers of the Romanian countries to examine important aspects of the political, social, cultural approach, to survey serious life themes (monarchs’deeds particularly), to distribute praise and blame, to build – literary speaking – the encomium or the discrediting text.
Cuvinte-cheie:
European Orient, polytheia, “the community profit”
