| Abstract: | Parimiile preste an is a lectionary (prophetologium) published in 1683 by Dosoftei, a well-known Romanian scholar and clerge. The Prophetologium is a special type of lectionary, used only by the Eastern Church; the text we discuss is the only Romanian printed version of a prophetologium. In this article we analyze the religious hymns in the Romanian prophetologium, comparing them with their Old Church Slavonic original, and the explanatory glosses that accompany the translation. |
