Abstract:
[Personal Gender Characteristics of Kinship Terminology in Early Romanian] The aim of the paper is to underline the predisposition of the Romanian language towards the category of the animate. The animate represents a lexico-semantic class of nouns including kinship terminology, which distinguishes itself through a particular morpho-synthetic behavior. This is the reason for which this terminology displays personal gender features that set them apart from the prototypical nouns and brings them together to proper nouns.
