| Abstract: | Outstanding representative of the relational neotraditional direction, G. G. Neamţu has become famous alongside his career through his vision on grammar aspects of contemporary Romanian language. His works represent a continuation of the theory initiated by the famous School of Linguistics from Cluj, especially by the remarkable researcher D. D. Draşoveanu, yet, G. G. Neamţu singled himself out through the original approach of the grammar phenomenon. In comparison with the grammar published by the Romanian Academy (The School of Linguistics from Bucureşti), G. G. Neamţu’s grammar is a neotraditional one with some structuralist elements. Out of his major contributions we mention the following: – Predicatul în limba română. O reconsiderare a predicatului nominal, 1986; – Teoria şi practica analizei gramaticale. Distincţii şi... distincţii, which was published in several editions due to the interest it aroused; – Studii şi articole gramaticale, 2014 – a colligatum of the relevant scientific contributions published from 1970–2011, the result of the researcher`s more than 40 years professional experience. G. G. Neamţu`s work and activity represent the manifestation of a personal style which worths being appreciated and which reveals a hard-working researcher doubled by a gifted teacher. The thorough scientific research, the firm argumentation, the accuracy of discourse, the professionally guided approach in the grammar analysis represent only a few of the elements which define G. G. Neamţu’s personal style. Through the multitude of the aspects tackled, G. G. Neamţu’s scientific works represent useful instruments for all those who are interested in the dynamics of the contemporary Romanian language, for all those who wish to go beyond the frontiers of traditionalism and get into the sphere of new concepts. |
