| Abstract: | The starting point of the present paper is the definition of the complex predicate in the recent Romanian grammars - Gramatica limbii române (GALR) and Gramatica de bază a limbii române (GBLR) -. We aim to indicate that the option for modernity and innovation in the theory and the practice of grammar cannot do without the real assumption of the contributions of traditional grammar. Otherwise there is a real risk to consider proven morphosyntactic realities as innovations and/or not to avoid, in such an approach, already reported controversies and impasses. |
