Abstract:[Religious Terminology in the Istro-Romanian Dialect: Liturgical Times] In view of the fact that spirituality is an important dimension of the life of Istro-Romanians, marked by the alternation of feast days and fasting periods, we want to gain an insight into the terminology employed to refer to liturgical times. This category is of the greatest importance for the history of the Romanian language and includes words that are to be found in the basic Romanian vocabulary, some of which go a long way back in Istro-Romanian, such as words of Latin or Slavonic origin.
Key words:Istro-Romanian, liturgical times, history of the Romanian language, Romanian vocabulary
Language: Romanian
