| Abstract: | The present paper seeks to describe and to analyze the theoretical interpretation of exception, opposition and addition adverbials in GALR. Starting from the observation that GALR treats these adverbials in a prescriptive and descriptive fashion, the paper focuses on: the possibility of integrating these adverbials in the Construction class of the same volume and the necessity of implementing a generative framework able to explain a larger set of examples. Our observations are meant to highlight the fact that, even though GALR proposes modern interpretations, the volume still requires careful and minute analysis inasmuch as the studied adverbials are concerned. |
