| Abstract: | Diachronic discursive terminology shows how and if history repeats itself in the formation of terminologies, because „often, the future resembles the past” (Aristotle). Are the planning problems of the current language and the standardization the same in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries? Yes − continuity, in terms of conflict between internal and external linguistic material. No − the innovation, in terms of communication context. The phenomenon of continuity − innovation has a special place for pairs of synonyms. We take as a case study the pair tâmpit “stupid” − obtuz “obtuse” and corp “body” − trup “body”. Tâmpit with mathematical sense seems to be a semantic calc, Slavic, invalidated by the evolution of language. Polysemy of the corp grows gradually over the two centuries. |
