| Abstract: | Our article aims at pointing out irony as a very efficient strategy in communication, especially when we talk about subverting ideology and skipping censorship. Our interest falls, especially, on verbal irony which is to be illustrated through literary texts belonging to the communist era when the “freedom of speech, thought and action” was just a dream, so that the only way to really communicate was by twisting the clichés. |
