Abstract:My proposition is an invitation to be fascinated by the charm of such an emancipating activity, because translation is an excellent illustration of how tangible the transferring of inter-cultural values becomes. It is where the worlds meet so smoothly and peacefully, taking no notice whether the meeting point happens to be on the literary highways of the West, or on a traditional bridge somewhere in the Ballkans. There are still no measurable results, or exact conclusions on translations as regards the importation and assimilation of cultural features. However, beyond any doubt, it has been proved by now that, due to a non-violent negotiation, this transfer of values may modify (or interfere with) the receiving civilisation. As such, the notion of translation, better to say the notion of cultural translation, gains a specific importance, going beyond the pure linguistics perspectives, thus developing into a cultural and political phenomenon. Myths, Kadare, Kundera and their translations are the examples illustrating these ideas.
