Publication: Text şi discurs religios, III, Section Traducerea textului sacru, p. 95-100
Publisher:Editura Universităţii „Alexandru Ioan Cuza”
Abstract:Such concepts as capability, possibility, necessity and obligation are expressed, in Romanian, by the so-called „modal-auxiliary” verbs: a putea, a trebui, a vrea, a fi, a avea and a veni. These verbs have some specific characteristics. It is generally accepted that the word TIME stands for the concept with which all mankind is familiar, divided into past, present and future. And, one must also underline that it is something independent of language. By TENSE we understand that correspondence between the form of the verb and our concept of time. ASPECT is the manner in which a verbal action is experienced or regarded. In Romanian, the „aspect-auxiliary” verbs are: a începe, a continua, a conteni, a isprăvi, a înceta, a sfîrşi, a termina.
