Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu
Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu (1838–1907). Encyclopædic scholar (writer, philologist, linguist, historian, politician). As a linguist/philologist, his most important accomplishments are the Academy’s dictionary of the Romanian language [Etymologicum Magnum Romaniæ, unfinished work: A–B(ărbat)], the Principles of Linguistics, and one of the first collections of ancient Romanian texts (Cuvente den bătrâni).
