| Abstract: | The aim of this paper was to cast light on a term rarely used as a symbol, in Romanian poetry, namely the spider. The analysis of the examples extracted from the poetical works of Lucian Blaga tended to illustrate the various techniques used by the poet in order to give a symbolic value to the term under study. Among these techniques, the most conspicuous role seemed to be played by the relation of the symbolic term with the stylistic context, represented, mainly, by metaphors. There should be also mentioned the importance of the context in revealing the multifaceted symbolic meanings developed by the term „spider” in the selected texts. |
