Abstract:[Cantemir’s Chronicle – between translation and original text] The present article analyzes the relation between D. Cantemir’s last work, Hronicul vechimei a romano-moldo-vlahilor, and its latin draft, Historia Moldo-Vlachica. The inquiry into the translation strategies used by D. Cantemir show us the fine border between translation and original text and requires a deeper understanding of some key-concepts in traductology such as translation and fidelity.
