Abstract:[Crisis, recession, depression, a type of paradigm?] The analysis of this paradigm shows the utility of the terminological research based on the relationship between texts and dictionaries. The texts reflect a conceptual – semantic dynamics more than the dictionary definitions. On the other hand, the considerable frequency correlated with the contextual variety show that some distinctive semantic differences specified by dictionaries can be broken in the same situations and thus, we can talk about synonymy which keeps for terms such as CRISIS, RECESSION, DEPRESSION only the nucleus of the specialized sense. Therefore, these three terms can form a lexical – semantic paradigm in dictionaries, but not in all the texts.
