| Abstract: | [The role of the assertive component in current polemic discourse] Based on recent Romanian newspaper articles, this paper tries to establish the role of the main parameters in the polemic discourse: aggression, argumentation and assertiveness. In recent press the general tendency is to focus on the argument of ideas instead of on the lampoon. Thus the assertive component replaces the aggressive one. The assertive behaviour is to be noticed not only at the textual level, but also as a general and distinctive feature of personality. However the analysed corpus offered relevant information on the account of the assertive component in current polemic discourse. |
