| Abstract: | [Cooperative vs. conflictive interaction in the TV debates] The paper aims at proving that TV debates belong to a special class of discursive forms, where disagreement is programatic and represents the preferred, unmarked structural type, whereas the agreement is the dispreferred, marked type. Unlike most of the discourse forms, which have a centripetal orientation, this type is centrifugally oriented. The paper examins some basic factors influencing the communicative balance in favor of the conflictive forms, pointing out the main communicative strategies used by the participants. |
