Abstract:[Central-European “imperial” onomastics and “K und K” terminology in Romanian literature]
Central-Europe as a multiethnic and multicultural historical space developed until the beginning of WWI its own cultural and literary imaginary. It was coherent enough for one to be able to detect some common thematic, stylistic and even onomastic and terminological influences, which go beyond the culture and language of every constituent nation of the multicultural Empire.
The act of a permanent cultural transmission, most often univocal, of the type center – periphery, favors the dynamic of some “imperial” linguistic and terminological sediments: official, administrative, military, economic-handcrafting, gastronomic or even fashionable. The several linguistic and terminological exchanges between numerous nations of a certain state are permanent. And consequently, the lexical innovations and name hybridizations in the “K und K” spirit are able to provide the Romanian literature from the ancient provinces of the old Danube Monarchy a highly particular stylistic color and sometimes a spectacular lexical and naming specificity.
