Abstract:The cultural history of currency and monetary systems is relevant for understanding the significance of money in society. Advances in each historical epoch have contributed to the enrichment of the semantic values of the word money. In Romanian, this word develops rich lexico-semantic fields and is part of many phraseological units. Paremiology contributes to the knowledge and understanding of the meanings of this word in Romanian.
