When speaking about the signified dimension of culinary products, food gains coherence by means of verbalisation, that is, through names of dishes, list of ingredients, presentations of stages of preparation. At the same time, language exploits the resources of gastronomy, generating suggestive analogies, culinary metaphors, anthroponyms and suggestive toponyms, designations of hybrid idioms or literary genres. Through this paper, I aim at discussing the oenogastronomic connotations of some of the anthroponyms that can be found in Romanian and universal literature.
