| Abstract: | The paper intends to follow the theoretic contribution of Matei Călinescu from his exiles studies in the USA. Over all, the latter is concentrated around the rereading concept. In relation with receptive theories regarding Roman Ingarden, Roland Barthes, Umberto Eco etc., the author creates a poetics of rereading with its rules and paradox. In the same way, Matei Călinescu analyzes as well the faces of modernity: modernism, avangarde, decadence, kitsch, postmodernism. This approach is made through rereading. |
