| Abstract: | The most frequently used monolingual dictionaries available for Romanian as L1 (DEX, DLRLC, MDA) are not appropriate for the purpose of teaching or learning L2 Romanian due to certain features: the lack of full grammatical descriptions, stylistics registers or indications concerning the use, and the inconstancy of extensive illustrative examples for the meanings of each entry. Our article tries to sketch the coordinates of a dictionary conceived particularly for Romanian as L2, in accordance with the lexical characteristics of this language arguing the necessity of complex pragmatic descriptions of the entries and the presence of more examples excerpted from databases with a special focus on the spoken language and usage. |
