Abstract:
Written and printed in Moldavia at the middle of the 19th century, at Jassy, the language of the first two Romanian cookery books are full of numerous archaic and regional features. Nevertheless, confronted with the regular characteristics of the 19th century Moldavian dialect, one realizes that the authors of these set books had a certain tendency to avoid some regional characteristics, especially phonetic ones, considered, probably, non-literary. The present article emphasizes both common and specific features of these cookery-books, from the actual standard language point of view.
