[An Innovation in Course: the English borrowing ‘bicoz’.] The present study addresses the issue of a recent borrowing which has entered the French language via English. The English because is used in French with the same meaning, that of parce que. The theoretical approach behind this phenomenon is that of language contact and it explains how changes in languages occur. It is a grammatical borrowing with double function: that of preposition (only as a borrowing) and that of conjunction, which is its function in the source language.
[O inovaţie în curs: împrumutul englezesc „bicoz”.] Studiul de față se concentrează asupra împrumutului bicoz, ce a intrat în limba franceză din englezescul because. Astfel, because este folosit în limba franceză cu același sens ca franțuzescul parce que. Acest fenomen se explică datorită contactului lingvistic. Aspectele interesante ale acestui fenomen sunt multiple. Este vorba despre un împrumut gramatical, care în timp ce în limba sursă funcționează ca o conjuncție, în limba țintă, este folosit ca prepoziție în același timp păstrându-și statutul de conjuncție.
