Abstract: | Despite its growing, indisputable success, children’s literature is still looked down upon with some condescension. Such views have a lasting impact on many translations which either favour moral concerns, or overinterpret, or even totally ignore literary effects. That happens for instance when picture, a specific feature of children’s literature, is totally left aside. Furthermore, it is to be noted that cultural differences, with their consequences on intertextuality, ought not to be overlooked in that particular transfer process. |
