| Abstract: | In this article I compare the French text and the English text published in the bilingual edition of En attendant Godot/Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett, trying to offer several examples of radical modifications made by the author, in order to demonstrate that through the self-translation process, Beckett expresses his authority and his freedom and that in his case, self-translation does not imply a transposition of the text into another language, but a re-writing process. |
