| Abstract: | The article analyses two examples of failed translation, excerpted from the Romanian version of A. Dumas Comte de Monte-Cristo signed by Gellu Naum. The first example illustrates a lexical and grammatical mistake made by the translator. The second one is a stylistic mistake, which contributes to the misinterpretation of the main character’s personality and in this way leads to an inappropriate appreciation of the novel. |
