| Abstract: | Starting from the micro-lexical field of storage furniture in French and Romanian, the paper aims to identify the lexicographical features of three lexemes (Fr. buffet / Ro bufet, Fr. commode / Ro. comodă, Fr. servante / Ro. servantă), first of all within the framework of comparative componential analysis and, secondly, to map linguistic description to the extralinguistic reality (analysis of the evolution of the referential basis). The componential analysis resulting in the identification of the common core takes into consideration shape: low and large furniture. The specific traits will relate to the component parts (with (no) drawers / double doors), purpose (for linen, clothes, crockery) and location. |
