Abstract:The culture of the Lipovenian-Russian – Old-Believers remains generally traditional, however, in spite of the considerable degree of conservation, the avoidance of the innovations is almost impossible. Most of the time these innovations appeared as an obligatory form of adaptation for the owners of the old culture at the new conditions of existence. The literary folklore reflects the almost unchanged image of a language belonging to a geographical sphere and a historical period long forgotten. And to demonstrate this I resorted to collecting a folkloric material from the Dobrogean localities Navodari, Slava Rusa, and analyzing some popular literary species and genres like lyrical songs, ceastuski, tales, proverbs, sayings, riddles and spiritual verse.
The Old-Believers brought with them on these new lands an enormous, invaluable folk culture, not only in documents or in books but also in their memory and hearts. Apart from the songs and tales, a series of customs and rituals managed to create once more the Russian Universe.
