| Abstract: | In Henry Bauchau’s work, the lapidary gesture, constantly invoked as a sign of violence, is invested with a double meaning: the displacing force of the real paradoxically stimulates the capacity of the Self to crystallize. Thus, its constitutive elements, namely rupture and annihilation, actually contain the seeds of a profound inner reconfiguration. |
