Abstract: | „The knowledge of the Divine presence (...) is the certain knowledge of the fact that the love of God for us is the very substance of our sadness and mutilation. I wish I could, as a recognition of this, be able to express this knowledge”, writes Simone Weil in one of her last texts. In fact, by all her works, she was not only able to express this difficult knowledge but her voice – charged with the tragic aspect of an extreme experience – is the very embodiment of an ardent and irradiating confession. We shall underline, in the following paper, some of the essential aspects of this confession which is uttered by a genuine witness of the absolute, to quote Gabriel Marcel, thus attempting to establish the themes and stages of a difficult revelation. |
