| Abstract: | The author discusses the phenomenon of literary exile in the history of Europe, trying to achieve a systematic perspective by following the suggestions of Thomas Pavel, Paul Friedrich or John Neubaeur regarding the specificity of European exile. The fundamental differences between the exiles of the 20th century and the previous waves of immigration are pointed out, as well as the metamorphoses of the tragic condition associated with exiled artists. |
