The author presents a revised version of the analysis he had proposed in Studii şi cercetări lingvistice XXVII, 1976, 6. The modifications introduced are the following: 1. the distinctive feature [–nasal] is included in the phonological content of the compact obstruents; 2. the distinctive feature [+grave] is replaced by [–strident] in the definition of /h/ (and, as a consequence of this change, [–grave] is replaced by [+strident] in the definitions of the two palatal fricatives).
