| Abstract: | The author intends to analyse the extent of the influence upon the printed version of the Bible, known as Biblia de la 1688, of the Old Testament translation carried out by Daniil Panoneanul and preserved in the autograph manuscript 4389 from the Romanian Academy Library. To this purpose, a contrastive analysis has been undertaken on the verses of the three versions published in the edition Monumenta linguae Dacoromanorum, Pars I, Genesis and Pars XI, Liber Psalmorum by selecting examples of similar forms between ms. 4389 and Biblia de la 1688, while they differ from ms. 45, that contains the revised version of Spatar Nicolae (Milescu)’s translation. The author concludes that Daniil Panoneanul’s translation influenced the printed text at lexical level, though less than ms. 45, which influenced it at lexical, morphological and syntactical level and from which whole verses were sometimes taken. |
