Abstract: | This article focuses on the paradoxes of the father-son relationship as presented in the novels of the Swedish writer, Göran Tunström and of Nobel Prize winner, J.M.G. Le Clézio. The absence or the death of the father progresses towards an identity crisis, leading to the difficulty to connect or rely on other people. Trying to fill in the gaps left by the non present father, the children will imitate, substitute or abandon their parents in order to find their inner self. |
