Abstract:The present scientific paper aims to present, by contrast, the biblical and the modern psalms, in which the similarities and differences between them are highlighted. The scientific undertaking intends to emphasize the changes at the rhetoric level, as well as those in the relationship between the psalm writer and divinity. How will the optimistic view from the biblical psalms change and express the anxiety and the dread of nothingness in the modern psalms? What are the similarities and the differences, at the rhetoric level, between Dosoftei’s verse psalms and Arghezi’s psalms? To what extent do Arghezi’s texts still hold something from the authentic religious thrill and from the theological content of Dosoftei’s psalms? These are but a few key questions of the present scientific paper.
